Playlists¶

Create and manage custom playlists to organize your favorite scenes.

Creating a Playlist¶

1. Click Playlists in the navigation menu
2. Click the Create Playlist button
3. Enter a name for your playlist
4. Optionally add a description
5. Click Create

Your new playlist is now ready to use!

Adding Scenes to Playlists¶

There are three ways to add scenes to your playlists:

From the Bulk Action Bar¶

1. Select one or more scenes on any page with scene cards
2. Click Add to Playlist on the bar that appears
3. Select the playlist you want to add them to

All the selected scenes are added in one step. Peek tells you how many were added, how many the playlist already held and how many were unavailable (hidden, restricted or removed from Stash).

From Scene Detail Page¶

1. Click on a scene to open its detail page
2. Click the Add to Playlist button
3. Select the playlist you want to add it to
4. Done!

The menu marks the playlists that already hold the scene with "already added", and its video counts stay current as you add.

While Watching¶

The Add to Playlist button on the player's controls works the same way.

Managing Your Playlists¶

Viewing Playlist Contents¶

1. Click Playlists in the navigation
2. Click on any playlist to see its scenes
3. Use the page controls below the list to move between pages (50 scenes a page by default; choose 25, 50 or 100 with Per page)

The playlist shows in its own order (Playlist order). Use the sort menu above the list to show it another way without changing the playlist: Date added to playlist, or any scene sort (title, date, duration, your rating, play count, random and more), with the arrow button to flip the direction. The sort and the page are in the address, so Back returns to the previous one and a link opens the same view. Play, and the next and previous scene while watching, follow the order you see.

The video count above the list counts every scene in the playlist you can see, not just the ones on the page.

On the Playlists page, each playlist shows thumbnails of the first four scenes you can see, and its video count counts only the scenes you can see. Scenes you hid, scenes restricted for you, scenes removed from Stash and scenes on a Stash server you don't use are left out of both.

Editing Playlist Details¶

1. Open a playlist
2. Click the Edit button (pencil icon)
3. Change the name or description
4. Click Save

Finding Scenes by Playlist¶

The Scenes page can list the scenes in one or more playlists with its Playlists filter: pick them (your own playlists first, then those shared with you, marked "by (owner name)"), and apply. Has ANY, Has ALL and Has NONE combine several playlists. In any of my playlists lists the scenes that are in one of your own playlists, or in none of them; playlists shared with you do not count for it. While exactly one playlist is chosen, Playlist Order appears in the sort menu and orders the scenes by their place in that playlist.

The filter shows what you may see, as the playlist page does: a scene you hid, or that your restrictions remove, is neither listed nor counted, even when the playlist holds it. A playlist shared with you counts only while its owner can still share (see Sharing Playlists); one you can no longer see is treated like a playlist that does not exist, and a saved filter that names it shows "Unavailable playlist" and matches nothing. The same rules apply to a Playlists rule in a custom carousel, which runs as you.

Sorting a Playlist¶

Anyone who can see a playlist can sort it with the sort menu above the list (see Viewing Playlist Contents). Sorting changes only what you see, not the playlist. Play, and Next and Previous while watching, follow the order shown.

If you own the playlist, a sort other than Playlist order also offers Save as playlist order (the Save as order button above the list). It makes the order shown the playlist's own order, for everyone who opens it. Scenes you can't see in the playlist (hidden, restricted, removed from Stash or on a server you don't use) keep their order after the ones you see; the confirmation says how many there are.

Unavailable scenes¶

If some of your playlist's scenes can't be played here, the owner sees N unavailable next to the video count, and a Remove unavailable button. It removes only the scenes that were deleted from Stash. Scenes that are hidden, restricted, or on a server you don't use stay in the playlist, since they may come back. People the playlist is shared with see only the scenes they can play, and nothing about the others.

Reordering Scenes¶

To change the playlist's own order:

1. Open a playlist you own, in Playlist order
2. Click Reorder
3. Move a scene with its arrows (to the top, up one, down one, to the bottom), or type its new position in the box and press Enter
4. Click Done when you are finished

Each move is saved as soon as you make it, so there is nothing to save or cancel. Moves work across pages: the position is the scene's place in the whole playlist, and moving the first scene on page 2 up puts it at the end of page 1. Reorder is not offered while the list is sorted another way; use Save as playlist order for that.

Removing Scenes¶

• To remove one scene, click Remove on its row and confirm.
• To remove several, select them (press and hold a row to start selecting, then click the others, or Select All for the page), then click Remove in the bar at the bottom and confirm. They are removed in one step.

Deleting a Playlist¶

1. Go to the Playlists page
2. Click Delete on the playlist you want to delete
3. Confirm deletion
4. The playlist is permanently removed

Playing Playlists¶

Basic Playback¶

1. Open a playlist
2. Click the Play button
3. Playback starts with the first scene in the order shown
4. When a scene ends, the next scene plays automatically

If nothing in the playlist is available to you, Play says so and stays on the page.

Autoplay is on by default wherever a queue starts: the Play button, a playlist row, a scene grid, a carousel or Watch History. The player's Autoplay button shows whether it is on; one click turns it off, and the scene then stops at its end. The player's Autoplay, Shuffle and Repeat buttons apply to that viewing session: changing them never reloads the scene you are watching.

Shuffle Mode¶

Randomize the playback order:

1. Open a playlist
2. Click the Shuffle button (shuffle icon)
3. Playlist will play scenes in random order
4. Click Shuffle again to turn it off

The owner's Shuffle and Repeat choices are saved with the playlist. If the playlist is shared with you, your Shuffle and Repeat are yours: they change how you play it and are not saved.

Repeat Modes¶

Choose how playback repeats:

Repeat Off (default) - Playlist plays once and stops

Repeat All - When playlist ends, it starts over from the beginning - Continues until you stop it

Repeat One - Current scene repeats continuously - Great for favorite scenes!

To change repeat mode: 1. Open a playlist 2. Click the Repeat button 3. Click again to cycle through modes: Off → All → One → Off

Navigation During Playback¶

While watching a playlist:

• Next Scene: Click the next button, press Shift+N, or use your keyboard's media next-track key
• Previous Scene: Click the previous button, press Shift+P, or use the media previous-track key
• Exit Playlist: Click the back button to return to browsing

The address follows the scene you are watching, and the queue stays with that page:

• A refresh keeps your place in the queue, with your Autoplay, Shuffle and Repeat choices.
• Changing a tab below the player, or paging Similar Scenes, keeps the queue.
• Back leaves the player for the page the queue started from (the playlist, the grid or the carousel), however many scenes you played.
• Opening one of the queue's scenes later from somewhere else plays it on its own: the old queue does not come back.

A scene in the queue that you can no longer see (hidden, restricted, deleted from Stash, or on a server you turned off) is skipped with a notice, in the direction you were going, and shown as Unavailable in the queue list. If nothing playable is left, the player shows "not found". A scene that fails to load for another reason (a network error, say) is not skipped: the player shows the error with Retry.

Sharing Playlists¶

Share your playlists with other users through user groups. Shared playlists appear in recipients' "Shared with Me" tab.

How Sharing Works¶

Playlists are shared with user groups, not individual users. All members of a shared group can access the playlist. This makes it easy to share with teams or households at once.

A share lasts only while it can: it ends when you leave the group, and it pauses while you do not have the Can Share permission (the people you shared with stop seeing the playlist at once, and see it again when the permission returns). A shared playlist shows who shared it.

Sharing a Playlist¶

1. Open a playlist you own
2. Click the Share button
3. A modal shows all groups you belong to
4. Check the groups you want to share with
5. Click Save

To stop sharing, uncheck all groups and save.

Viewing Shared Playlists¶

1. Go to Playlists in the navigation
2. Click the Shared with Me tab
3. Shared playlists show the owner's name and which groups they're shared through

A shared playlist shows you only the scenes your own hidden items and restrictions allow, so its count can be smaller for you than for its owner. You can also filter the Scenes page by a shared playlist: see Finding Scenes by Playlist.

What Shared Users Can Do¶

Downloading Playlists¶

You can download entire playlists as zip archives for offline viewing. The zip includes all video files plus an M3U playlist and Kodi-compatible NFO metadata files.

To download a playlist: 1. Open a playlist 2. Click the Download button 3. Wait for the zip to be created (open Downloads to see its progress) 4. Open Downloads and click Download when it shows Completed

Users a playlist is shared with can download it too. The zip leaves out any scenes hidden or restricted for the person downloading it.

Troubleshooting¶

Scene won't add to playlist¶

• Make sure you're logged in
• Check that the playlist still exists
• Try refreshing the page

Playlist won't play¶

• Verify the playlist has scenes in it
• Check that you can play individual scenes
• Ask an admin to check that Peek can reach the Stash server (Settings → Server Settings → Server Configuration → Stash Instances)

Changes aren't saving¶

• Make sure to click Save after editing
• Check your internet connection
• Try refreshing and making changes again

Multi-Select¶

Select multiple scenes at once for bulk actions:

1. Click the checkbox on any scene card (or long-press on mobile)
2. Select additional scenes
3. Use the bulk action bar to Add to Playlist or Remove selected scenes
